Atletico Madrid secured fourth place in La Liga with a 2‑1 win over Osasuna on Tuesday, while Real Betis defeated Elche to clinch a Champions League berth.

English forward Ademola Lookman opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 15th minute after Javi Galán received a card for handball.

Twenty minutes later, Norwegian striker Alexander Sorloth doubled Atletico's lead, heading the ball past Aitor Fernández.

Atletico's only setback before that was a red card shown to Marcos Llorente for two reckless fouls.

Kike Barja reduced the deficit for Osasuna with an injury‑time strike.

Despite the late goal, Atletico held on to finish fourth with 66 points, trailing champions Barcelona (91 points), Real Madrid (77) and Villarreal (69), each of whom still have a game in hand.

Further down the table, Levante escaped the bottom three by coming from behind to beat Celta Vigo 3‑2, leaving Celta Vigo still in contention for a Champions League place.

Levante now sit on 39 points alongside three other clubs near the relegation zone, including Elche, who lost 2‑1 to Real Betis, and Espanyol, who host Sevilla on Thursday.

Real Betis' victory guarantees them a spot in next season's Champions League by finishing at least fifth. They sit on 57 points, seven ahead of sixth‑placed Celta Vigo.

This will be Real Betis' first appearance in the elite European competition since the 2005‑06 season.
