‘Lies from the pit of hell’ – Gov Mutfwang denies alleged imposition of senatorial aspirants

Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, has denied claims that he imposed candidates in the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary elections.

Gyang Bere, the Governor’s Director of Press and Public Affairs, called the allegations “baseless” and “lies from the pit of hell.” He said that Mutfwang has never imposed aspirants or candidates in any election and will not do so now, noting the Governor’s reputation for fair play and democratic conduct even during his time with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In a statement released on Tuesday, Bere urged the public to ignore the rumors, which he said do not reflect the Governor’s peaceful and democratic approach or his consistent advocacy for free, fair, and credible elections in Plateau State.

“The Governor, His Excellency Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has never imposed any political aspirant or candidate against the wishes of the people and will not start now,” Bere said.

“We urge members of the public and party faithful to disregard the fabricated statement in its entirety.”

“The Governor has always enjoined party faithful to adhere strictly to the principles of peaceful conduct throughout the electoral process, stressing that the peace, unity, and stability of Plateau remain the utmost priority of his administration.”

“The Governor has described the reports as fabricated, false, and misleading. The state government urges the public and party faithful to disregard the claims entirely as Governor Mutfwang has always reiterated his long‑standing position for free, fair, and credible electoral processes across Plateau State,” the statement added.
