Leadway Assurance Company Limited continues to back the expansion of Nigeria’s creative sector and SMEs by sponsoring the country’s largest leather exhibition, the Lagos Leather Fair (LLF), for the fourth year in a row.
The ninth edition of the Lagos Leather Fair will take place on 27–28 June 2026 at the EPAC Center on Victoria Island, Lagos, under the theme “Beyond the Hide: Scaling Value, Building Industry, Driving Growth.”
The event will concentrate on bolstering Africa’s creative and craft industries and speeding up value creation throughout the manufacturing chain, a focus that matches Leadway’s corporate values.
Leadway’s backing also illustrates the group’s wider aim to foster business resilience and sustainable growth among Nigerian firms, especially by developing the country’s leather and creative manufacturing ecosystem, which has helped promote Nigeria’s global soft power and unlock its export potential.
On behalf of the Leadway Group, MD/CEO of Leadway Pensure Olusakin Labeodan commented on the Lagos Leather Fair: “SMEs are the key drivers of Nigeria’s economic growth, innovation, and generational wealth creation. The leather sector offers vast opportunities for young entrepreneurs and creative talent to join a vibrant, resilient, and steadily expanding value‑retention economy, and this aligns closely with Leadway’s dedication to fostering sustainable enterprise growth across the continent.”
A 2025 UNIDO report shows that Nigeria processes more than 750,000 metric tonnes of raw hides and skins each year, with a large portion exported as low‑value raw material, underscoring a major opportunity for value retention and industrial advancement in the sector.
He added, “In ecosystems like this, where the potential for transformation is high, Leadway continues to intensify its engagement and support.”
