On 29 October 2025, Governor Lawal was welcomed as a guest lecturer at the 18th Executive Intelligence Management Course (EIMC 18) held by the National Institute for Security Studies (NISS) in Abuja.
The course theme was “Non‑state Actors in Security Management: Issues, Challenges, and Prospects for Peace and Development in Africa – A Zamfara State Perspective.”
Joseph Obule Odama, the Commandant of NISS, praised Governor Lawal for turning Zamfara from a state of negativity into one of positivity, despite the significant challenges he faced on the ground.
Odama noted that Governor Lawal had weathered many difficulties during his campaign and ultimately led the state out of crisis.
He added: “Today, His Excellency has presented the facts, the issues, the challenges, and the prospects for a future Zamfara. For me, it was a revision of what I thought I knew about the state. I grew up there, and my career has taken me back there. I know every inch of the bitterness that was thrown at him when he was contesting for governor. It is now history; he has transformed the state from one of negativity to one of positivity.”
