An injury‑time own goal by goalkeeper Bento prevented Cristiano Ronaldo from securing his first Saudi Pro League title on Tuesday, as Al Nassr were held to a 1‑1 draw by second‑placed Al Hilal.
Al Nassr supporters, dressed in yellow, were moments away from celebrating the championship when the Brazilian keeper mishandled a long throw‑in, sending the ball into his own net in the eighth minute of added time.
With only one match remaining this season, Al Nassr stay five points ahead of Al Hilal, who still have a game in hand. A victory over Damac next week would clinch the title for Al Nassr.
Now 41, Ronaldo has not yet won a domestic trophy since joining the Saudi club in 2023 on a high‑profile contract that boosted the league’s profile and attracted other stars such as Neymar and Al Hilal forward Karim Benzema.
