LASG Commends CraftVantage for Its Creative Industry Initiatives

The Lagos State Government praised the CraftVantage art exhibition for creating local and international job opportunities for young Nigerian artists, attracting investment, and promoting sustainability within the creative sector to drive economic growth.

Special Adviser to Governor Yemi Osinbajo on Climate Change and Circular Economy, Titilayo Oshodi, delivered the commendation at the CraftVantage 2026 Graduate Exhibition, which carried the theme “Bold Stories, Sustainable Futures” and was held in Lagos recently.

Oshodi noted that the state views the creative industry and green economy as key drivers for diversification and growth, emphasizing the need for Nigeria to explore revenue streams beyond oil by harnessing its rich natural and human resources.

She pledged that the government would support artists by helping them access markets and investment opportunities to scale and expand their businesses.

Oluwayemisi Ogunbodede, founder of CraftVantage, explained that the programme was created to assist fresh graduates, offering them platforms to showcase their talents and stories after months of intensive training and mentorship.

She added that the exhibition aimed to display the artists’ creativity, technical skills, and commitment to sustainability through the use of eco‑conscious materials and processes.

Ogunbodede reiterated the organisation’s commitment to nurturing emerging artists through mentorship, financial support, professional guidance, curated platforms, and international exposure as part of its effort to strengthen Nigeria’s creative economy.
