Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has commented on striker Robert Lewandowski’s exit from the club at the end of the season.
The Poland international announced that he will leave Camp Nou this summer after his contract expires in June.
During his spell at Barcelona, Lewandowski scored 119 goals in 191 appearances.
Flick said the 37‑year‑old is looking for a new chapter, describing it as an honour to have coached the former Bayern Munich striker.
“It’s been a great chapter for him. For me, it’s been a privilege to work with him because he is a true professional,” Flick told reporters at the pre‑match press conference before Barcelona’s game against Real Betis on Sunday night.
“He is a role model, which is why he is still performing at this level. Now, he wants a new challenge, and we respect that.”
