Lagos APC primaries conducted peacefully, evidence of internal democracy, says Obasa

Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly and All Progressives Congress (APC) House of Representatives aspirant for Agege Constituency, Mudashiru Obasa, described Saturday’s primaries as “very peaceful,” a sign of strong internal democracy within the party.

Obasa made the comments shortly after voting at his ward in Agege, around 1 pm, where he was welcomed by a large crowd.

Speaking to reporters, Obasa said, “This is a fantastic exercise and a very good development and a new direction.”

“We appreciate the National Chairman of APC and his team and party leaders in Lagos State,” he added. “Though we still await a situation report from other wards, I want to believe it will be peaceful as well.”

When asked about aspirants who stepped down during the exercise, Obasa noted, “It’s good for the unity of the party. APC has the characteristics of coming together after every disagreement. This is a pre‑election; the main election is coming in 2027.”

“For me, the most important thing is that we have allowed everyone to express themselves in this exercise,” he concluded.
