Kwara PDP Selects Kale Kawu as 2027 Gubernatorial Candidate

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State has selected Engr Kale Kawu as its governorship candidate for the 2027 elections.

According to DAILY POST, the announcement comes ahead of the party’s governorship primary scheduled for Sunday, when the consensus candidate will be formally confirmed.

The statement was made on Saturday by former Governor Bukola Saraki, just hours after Engr Yakubu Danladi Salihu, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, was announced as the APC flag bearer.

Dr Saraki said, “I am pleased to announce that, after extensive consultations with stakeholders of the Kwara PDP and our leading gubernatorial aspirants, we have arrived at a consensus candidate to fly the flag of our great party in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.”

The former Senate President expressed gratitude to the other aspirants, noting that they had stepped down in the best interest of the party and the state.

“It is this spirit of unity and selflessness that will carry us to victory,” he added.

Dr Saraki wished all members, delegates, and supporters of the party a successful, peaceful, and orderly outing at the gubernatorial primaries.
