Sanusi Bature, spokesman for Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf, said that the presidential ticket of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso is unlikely to succeed.

Bature explained that Kwankwaso regards Obi as a “Biafra agent” and that the two have divergent political views.

He made the comments on Arise Television’s Morning Show on Wednesday.

“When you see Obi in Kano, it is a big surprise for us because the same Kwankwaso who claims to have a PhD is now partnering with Obi, who holds only an undergraduate degree,” Bature said.

“The same Kwankwaso who says he is more politically experienced than Obi, and who has viewed Obi as merely a Biafra agent, now wants to be his vice‑president. This is unexpected, and Kano cannot accept this partnership because he is not the Kwankwaso we know—a straightforward person who wants to contribute to the country’s development.”

“This partnership is temporary, and I don’t believe the Obi/Kwankwaso ticket can work,” Bature added. “The two have very different opinions and political views, so I don’t see them connecting to provide what the country needs.”
