The support group of former New Nigerian Peoples Party presidential candidate Rabi’u Kwankaso, operating under the Kwankwasiyya Movement, has criticized PRP National Chairman Hakeem Baba Ahmed.

Ahmed has been criticized for asserting that Peter Obi and Kwankwaso sought the PRP presidential ticket.

He claimed that Obi and Kwankwaso declined to join the PRP before the 2027 general elections because they were seeking the party’s presidential ticket, a request he said was not granted.

In response, Kwankwasiyya Movement spokesperson Habeeb Saleh Mohammed dismissed the allegations, calling them an attention‑seeking act.

He added that, apart from the public statement, he was unaware of any formal meeting where such demands were made.

He maintained that, to his knowledge, neither Kwankwaso nor Peter Obi ever approached the PRP to demand a presidential ticket.

“Well, I believe every Nigerian who is actually familiar with the situation will tell you that the PRP made an appeal on national television through its national chairman, Hakeem Baba‑Ahmed, asking Peter Obi and my principal, and even members of the coalition, to move into the PRP,” he said.
