Dr. Mohammed Kpautagi, a senior figure of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and a governorship candidate for Niger State, collected his Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja, signalling his intent to address the state’s governance challenges.

The event attracted a sizable gathering of supporters, party members, youths, women and political allies who assembled at the ADC secretariat in support of the aspirant.

Speaking to journalists after receiving the forms, Kpautagi thanked his supporters for their confidence and pledged that his administration would prioritize policies that directly affect ordinary citizens.

He identified insecurity and water scarcity as two of the most pressing problems confronting Niger State, and said his government would introduce urgent, practical measures to tackle them.

“It is painful seeing our people being kidnapped and killed while women and children wake up daily in search of water. These are challenges that require decisive leadership and immediate action,” he stated.

Kpautagi, accompanied by his wives and political associates during the ceremony, also committed to restoring Niger State’s former prominence through people‑oriented governance and careful resource management.

He previously contested the 2023 governorship primary election under the All Progressives Congress (APC) platform, running alongside incumbent Governor Mohammed Umar Bago.

Among the dignitaries present were former legislators, former Deputy Speakers, party chairpersons and other candidates seeking elective offices on the ADC ticket.
