Dr. Paul Fasagba, the Provost of Kogi State College of Education in Ankpa, has announced that graduates from 2016 to the present may collect their certificates from the college starting on 18 May 2026.
Speaking in Lokoja on Friday, Dr. Fasagba highlighted the steps the college has taken to resolve the long‑standing issue of delayed certificate issuance that has affected many alumni.
The delay in issuing certificates has been a major concern for more than a decade, causing frustration and hindering graduates’ ability to seek employment or further study.
According to the Provost, the new administration has acted swiftly after his appointment, focusing on identifying the root causes of the problem and restoring confidence in the institution.
He explained that part of the solution involved consultations with the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE) to ensure all procedures and standards were met.
Investigations revealed that over 4,000 graduates had not received their certificates during the years of operation.
“After identifying the bottlenecks in certificate processing and issuance, the management formed a committee to oversee the task and enforce strict compliance with due process,” he said.
“The certificates have now been produced, fully authenticated, and signed, ready for collection by the affected graduates.”
Dr. Fasagba assured that measures have been put in place to prevent future delays, emphasizing that certificates will be issued promptly to graduating students as they complete their studies.
The Provost urged all affected alumni to take advantage of this opportunity, reaffirming the college’s commitment to improving administrative efficiency and service delivery.
