Fresh tension has gripped the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in Kogi State after aspirant Babagbemi Joseph accused the state Commissioner for Communication and Information, Kingsley Fanwo, and the Chairman of Mopamuro Local Government Area, Hon. Destiny, of manipulating the process.

Speaking at the venue, Joseph said the primary election had been marked by irregularities and confusion.

“Today, our primaries were moved from yesterday. I came here as usual early in the morning to see if there would be a primary. We were here with a crowd and were supposed to start the exercise, but we didn’t see anybody around.”

“After some time, we saw two vehicles arrive, making it look as though the primary would finally begin. However, INEC officials were nowhere to be found, and the ward chairman suddenly became the returning officer.”

“I asked when the election would start. After a while, we queued, but they didn’t count anybody. They only made an attempt to move away with the cards, so we blocked them.”

“We followed them to the party secretariat, but nothing happened afterwards,” he said.
