Kelechi Iheanacho’s Bursaspor salary: Weekly, monthly, and yearly breakdown

Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has completed a transfer to Turkish 1. Lig club Bursaspor, Afrik-Foot reports.

​The 29-year-old’s decision to join the second tier of Turkish football came as a surprise to many fans, since he had an offer from Celtic after a solid finish to last season.

​To some, he decided to make the move since Bursaspor were offering a bigger package. It was recently revealed that the Hoops offered him €17,000 every week, while Bursaspor tabled a deal of €55,000 per week. But now, the president of the club, Enes Celik, has revealed Iheanacho’s real salary.

​Kelechi Iheanacho’s Bursaspor Salary Revealed?

​With his contract, Kelechi Iheanacho is set to become the highest earner at Bursaspor.

​The president of the club, Enes Celik, confirmed his new salary in a press conference on Monday. He admitted that they had been in contact with the Super Eagles star since June, and they were impressed with what they saw from him in training, hence their decision to go all out for him.

​He revealed that Iheanacho signed a three-year deal and will earn a base salary of €1.4 million yearly at the club, contrary to previous claims. This figure has raised a few eyebrows, with questions being asked about how the club can sustain it.

But President Celik stated that there are players who earn as high as €2.2 million in the same league, so they just need to properly structure their next transfer dealings to ensure their books are in order.

​“We have been in contact with Kelechi Iheanacho for 40 days,” Celik said.

​”It was a bit difficult. I just watched his training session in terms of shooting. He feels different.

​”Furkan Akın had serious contacts regarding the Iheanacho transfer. I thank them all. I thank our football department and our Administrative Manager.

​”It was important to handle it in a way that was in Bursaspor’s best interests. Iheanacho has a guaranteed salary agreement with us of 1.4 million euros. We made a 3-year agreement.

​”There are players in our league who earn 2.2 million euros but are not even half as good as Iheanacho. We are also considering the club’s financial structure.

​”We will also make a transfer regarding the central defender. If we were going to buy one, we would do it immediately, but we are also considering the financial structure.”

​Kelechi Iheanacho will earn a base salary of €1.4 million per year at Bursaspor, making him one of the highest-paid players in the Turkish second tier.

​His weekly salary at the club is roughly €27,000, more than double what Celtic were willing to offer for his services. This is aside from match bonuses, goal bonuses, win bonuses, image rights, and others. Per day, it equates to €3,850 at the club.

​The massive investment that the club has made in the Nigerian is evidence of how highly they rate him. He has to deliver massively for them next season.
