Kefas urges unity and inclusive leadership after APC wins Taraba governorship primary.

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba state announced on Friday that he would uphold fairness, humility and inclusive leadership after winning the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary election in the state.

Kefas delivered his acceptance speech immediately after the results were declared. Minutes later, members of the APC Governorship Primary Election Committee visited the Government House in Jalingo to formally present the results to the governor.

In his remarks, Kefas said the victory belonged to all APC members across Taraba, emphasizing that it reflected the party’s strength and unity. He thanked the APC leadership at every level for their support and confidence, and he expressed gratitude to the people of the state for their continued trust and cooperation.

The governor also praised the other aspirants who took part in the primary, noting that democracy thrives on participation and offers a platform for diverse voices. He said the primaries’ conclusion marked the end of intra‑party competition and urged stakeholders to embrace unity and work together for Taraba’s development.

Kefas reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the APC and advancing policies that will build a more prosperous and inclusive state.

Earlier, the chairperson of the election committee said the exercise reflected the genuine will of party members and that the process was conducted with integrity and adherence to due process.

According to the Returning Officer, Governor Agbu Kefas received 166,357 votes to win the primary. Details of his nearest challenger had not yet been fully disclosed at the time of this report.
