Kefas praises the peaceful APC primaries for Taraba governorship race

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State praised the calm and orderly conduct of the APC governorship direct primaries held across the state, calling the exercise a clear indication of the electorate’s growing democratic maturity.

The comments were made on Thursday after the governor took part in the primary at Nurul/Wapan‑Nghaku Primary School, situated in the Hospital Ward headquarters of Wukari Local Government Council.

Governor Kefas thanked voters, party officials and security forces for maintaining order throughout the polls, noting that the peaceful atmosphere reflected the people’s commitment to peace and democratic values.

He reiterated his administration’s focus on safeguarding lives and property, empowering citizens, developing infrastructure and delivering other democratic dividends to improve the welfare of Taraba residents.

Observers at the polling venue described the process as orderly, with party members arriving early to participate in the direct primary under the oversight of the electoral committee.

The election was coordinated by returning officer Mr Samuel Agbu, who assured participants that the exercise would be free, fair and transparent.

In his address to voters, Agbu urged them to remain peaceful and act responsibly, emphasizing that transparency and credibility would guide the process.

The APC governorship direct primaries are being conducted in various wards across the state amid intensified political activity ahead of upcoming elections.
