Kebbi APC ex‑chairman and another member call for help after being held captive by bandits【VIDEO】

A video that shows two elderly men, one of whom is a former chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State, pleading for help while held captive by bandits has appeared online. According to DAILY POST, the footage was shared on social media on Thursday by conflict reporter and security commentator English Alhaji through his Facebook page.

The recording, captured in Hausa, depicts the captives making emotional appeals for assistance. They call on their families, community leaders and government authorities to intensify efforts to secure their release, noting that their health has deteriorated while in captivity.

One of the men, identified as a former APC chairman from Koko‑Besse Local Government Area, laments the conditions under which he is being held and expresses concern over the lack of progress in securing their freedom. He says, “Yahya is ill, and I am also battling sickness. As you know, I have been living on medication. Our condition is getting worse in this place.” He also recounts being forced to trek long distances through forests alongside their abductors despite their age and medical conditions.

The second victim, Yahya, also urges urgent intervention, stating that they have remained in captivity for an extended period without rescue. Both men appeal to their families, associates and relevant authorities to take steps toward securing their release and reuniting them with loved ones.

The video has raised concern among residents and social media users amid ongoing cases of kidnapping and banditry in parts of northern Nigeria. At the time of this report, security authorities have not issued an official statement regarding the video or the status of the victims.
