Kayode Nominated for Premier League Young Player of the Season

Brentford defender Michael Kayode has been shortlisted for the Premier League Young Player of the Season award, according to Completesports.com.

Kayode is one of eight players nominated for the accolade.

Other contenders include Manchester City’s Rayan Cherki and Nico O’Reilly, West Ham’s Matheus Fernandes, Newcastle United’s Lewis Hall, Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, and Bournemouth stars Kroupi and Alex Scott.

Kayode has featured regularly for Brentford this season, making 35 league appearances and recording one goal and one assist.

The 21‑year‑old’s long throw‑ins have also proved to be a potent weapon for the Bees.

The right‑back joined Brentford on loan from Serie A club Fiorentina in January.

The move was made permanent by the London club last summer.
