The Katsina State government has clarified that the former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Governor Dikko Umaru Radda on Community Development, who has recently been linked to a kidnapping syndicate, was suspended before the alleged incident occurred.
According to the Daily Post, the former SSA was accused of orchestrating the abduction of an eight‑year‑old boy in the Katsina metropolis.
In a statement released on Monday, State Commissioner of Information and Culture Bala Salisu Zango confirmed that the SSA, Garwa, had been suspended prior to the allegation.
The suspension was due to accusations that Garwa diverted empowerment materials intended for communities in Batsari Local Government Area under the state’s Community Development Programme.
Governor Radda described the alleged criminal syndicate’s activities as unfortunate and expressed concern that a public figure with political ambitions could be associated with such allegations.
