The Kano Road Traffic Agency (KAROTA) has announced that it will deploy 1,000 personnel to key sites throughout the state in preparation for the upcoming Eid‑el‑Kabir (Sallah) celebrations.
In a statement released by the agency’s Public Relations Officer, Abubakar Ibrahim Sharada, the staff will be positioned at major highways, Eid prayer grounds, and recreational centres.
Managing Director Faisal Mahmud Kabir said the move reflects KAROTA’s commitment to maintaining order and safety for all road users during the festive period.
“We are fully prepared to ensure a free flow of traffic and reduce congestion during the Sallah period. Our personnel will be on the ground at all strategic points to guide motorists and maintain order,” he said.
He also urged motorists and other road users to cooperate with traffic officials and obey traffic rules to avoid unnecessary delays and accidents.
KAROTA Head of Operations Auwal Shehu Muhammad Kofar Mata added that residents should celebrate responsibly and support the agency’s efforts. He conveyed the Managing Director’s goodwill message, wishing all residents a peaceful and safe Eid‑el‑Kabir celebration.
The agency reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring a smooth and incident‑free festive period across Kano State.
