Kano teacher accused of raping twins to be arraigned in October

The Kano State High Court, presided over by Justice Suleiman Baba Na Mallam, has scheduled October 13 and 14, 2026, for the arraignment and subsequent hearing of Kamal Abdulmumini, a teacher at Alhadid Nursery and Primary School, who allegedly raped four twin sisters in his office.

When proceedings resumed on Tuesday for the arraignment, the defence counsel, Barrister Nasir Abdurrahman, requested access to facilities and other relevant documents to enable him to prepare his defence.
Justice Na Mallam ordered the prosecution to provide the defendant with the necessary materials related to the case.

The defendant, a resident of Yar Adua Quarters, is alleged to have raped the four minor siblings on different occasions in his office located at Alhadid Model College, Inusawa Quarters, Ungogo LGA.

The prosecution counsel, Barrister Abdullahi Muhammad, Director of Public Prosecutions at the Kano State Ministry of Justice, stated that he has assembled five witnesses who are ready to testify against the defendant.

When contacted after the court session, the defence counsel, Barrister Nasir Abdurrahman, declined to comment to journalists.
