Kano Pillars Announce Departure of Eight Players from the NPFL

Kano Pillars announced that eight players have left the club after their contracts expired, Completesports.com reports.

The club’s four‑time Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions confirmed that Bernard Ovoke, Christian Izuchukwu, Sudais Ali Baba, Aliyu Yakubu, Muhammad Galadima, Ugochukwu Gabriel, Zahraddeen Bello, and Williams Ayuba are no longer with the team.

In a statement, the club thanked the players for their commitment, professionalism and contributions during their time with the Sai Masu Gida.

Kano Pillars faced a difficult 2025/26 NPFL season, securing their top‑flight status on the final day to avoid relegation.

They also failed to make a significant impact in the President Federation Cup.

The club is currently undergoing major restructuring ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Head coach Mohammed Babaganaru, who guided Kano Pillars out of relegation last season, is expected to remain in charge for the new campaign.
