The Chairman of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Kano State, Husaini Isah Mai Riga, urged security agencies to intensify protection measures for residents after gunmen attacked the Yankamaye community in Tsanyawa local government area and the Lakwaya community in Gwarzo local government area of the state.
The call was issued in a statement signed by Adam Said Adam, Personal Assistant and Media Director to the NDC chairman, and posted on the party’s Facebook page on Saturday.
Mai Riga stressed that safeguarding lives and property must remain a top priority for the government.
"The protection of lives and property is a responsibility that requires the government’s full attention, as it remains one of the most pressing needs of the people," he said.
The NDC chairman expressed sympathy for the victims of the attacks and offered prayers for those who lost their lives.
"Hon. Husaini Isah Mai Riga prayed for continued divine protection over the lives and property of the people of Kano State, and asked that God continue to support and safeguard the state from all forms of evil," the statement added.
