Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency will transport the final group of pilgrims to Makkah on Friday, following a four‑day mandatory stay in Madinah.
A statement released in Madinah on Friday by Chief Press Secretary Malam Ibraheem Musa credited Governor Uba Sani’s backing for the smooth evacuation.
Quoting the agency’s Director of Operations, Alhaji Abubakar Usman Yusuf, the statement said the governor’s support allowed early preparations for the pilgrimage, starting with weekly sensitisation sessions for prospective pilgrims in Nigeria.
“The exercise educated our pilgrims on all aspects of Hajj, the rules of Saudi Arabia and how they should conduct themselves throughout the pilgrimage,” Abubakar added.
The statement noted that “that foundation laid the ground for the smooth conduct of all the Hajj rites in Madinah,” and that officials encountered minimal challenges with Kaduna State pilgrims.
Abubakar also praised the Kaduna State Hajj Delegation Committee, led by Alhaji Abubakar Mustapha, former Head of Service, for providing overall guidance during the pilgrims’ stay in Madinah.
Alhaji Abubakar recalled that the State Hajj Delegation had visited Malam Sani Garba, a pilgrim who was hospitalised at Almiqati General Hospital in Madinah, together with staff of the Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency.
The statement further disclosed that Malam Sani had been discharged and had departed for Makkah on Thursday.
