Running unopposed, Governor Sani secured a decisive affirmation victory, gaining the endorsement of delegates and stakeholders from across the state.
The primary, overseen by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials, drew senior APC leaders, elected officials, delegates and supporters from throughout Kaduna.
Hon. Hafiz Kawu, chairman of the Kaduna APC Governorship and House of Assembly Primary Election Committee, described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and a clear display of unity and confidence in Governor Sani’s leadership ahead of the 2027 election.
The affirmation votes were adopted by the Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yusuf Liman, and received unanimous endorsement from the delegates present.
After his affirmation, Governor Sani thanked APC members, stakeholders and the people of Kaduna for their confidence, calling the endorsement a renewed mandate for service and inclusive development.
He highlighted his administration’s progress in security, peacebuilding and unity, achieved through sustained dialogue and community engagement, which has led to greater stability and social harmony across the state.
“We have strengthened peace, promoted unity and expanded development across both urban and rural communities. From education and infrastructure to road rehabilitation and people‑centered projects, our focus has remained on improving the lives of citizens,” he said.
Governor Sani assured residents that his administration would build on the gains already made and continue efforts to create a more secure, prosperous and united Kaduna State in preparation for 2027.
The affirmation further consolidates Governor Sani’s influence within the APC and signals growing cohesion in the ruling party ahead of the general election.
