Bar. Firdausi Sunusi Umar, the aspirant for the Ringim and Taura Federal constituency, has withdrawn her candidacy and pledged support for the consensus candidate.

She is one of eleven candidates seeking the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket for the seat.

All nine other aspirants had previously stepped down in favor of Yusha’u Muhammad, who is regarded as the consensus candidate.

Shortly before the primary election, Bar. Firdausi announced her withdrawal during a courtesy visit to Governor Umar Namadi at Government House in Dutse.

In a letter addressed to the national party chairman and received by the state legal adviser, Bar. Baffa Alhassan, she explained that the decision was made for the sake of unity, stability, and the party’s progress.

She said the choice followed consultations with party elders and stakeholders and was made in accordance with section 87(1) of the Electoral Act 2026.

“I resolved and align myself with the consensus candidate of our great party, APC,” she said.
“I, therefore, wholeheartedly endorse Yusha’u Muhammad of our party for the Ringim and Taura Federal constituency ticket,” she added.
