Jigawa APC Confirms Namadi as 2027 Governorship Candidate

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Jigawa State has officially confirmed Umar Namadi as its consensus candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

The confirmation took place on Thursday at Dutse Township Stadium, with oversight from officials at the party’s national headquarters.

Isa Sadik‑Achida, Chairman of the Electoral Committee for the Governorship Consensus Exercise, announced that Namadi had been unanimously affirmed by the delegates.

Sadik‑Achida explained that, in accordance with the Electoral Act and APC guidelines, a single aspirant must be endorsed through a voice vote by the delegates.

Consequently, he declared Namadi the APC’s consensus candidate for the 2027 election in Jigawa.

In his acceptance speech, Namadi expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for allowing him to witness the event.

The governor also thanked party leaders, stakeholders, members, and supporters for the confidence they had placed in him, allowing him to seek re‑election without opposition.

“I want to use this opportunity to thank the people of Jigawa, particularly APC stakeholders, for the confidence reposed in me,” Namadi said.

“I will use this opportunity you’ve given me to continue the good work we are doing, and our project of greater importance is also on course,” the governor assured.
