Jesus Discusses His Future at Arsenal

Gabriel Jesus has spoken about his future at newly crowned Premier League champions Arsenal.

The Brazilian still has one year remaining on his Arsenal contract, but there are rumors that he could leave the club during the summer transfer window.

Jesus captained the Gunners in their final league match against Crystal Palace, opening the scoring in a 2–1 victory.

Speaking after Arsenal were crowned champions, Jesus was quoted on the X handle of Arsenal News Channel:

A lot is said about my future and I’m very honest. It’s not easy for a player who always wants to evolve and help on the pitch with what’s been happening.

When I came back, many people thought I would return slowly and take longer. But from the first Champions League match, I came back fully, without fear, and played most of the games.

It’s not easy mentally. I had resilience while respecting the coach. The future belongs to God. I still have one year left on my Arsenal contract. I want to play and prove to myself that I can still play at a high level.

Against Palace I could have scored two or three more goals. That shows me I’m still a player capable of performing at a high level even after such a serious injury.
