The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released 279 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results that were previously withheld due to suspected examination malpractice. The Board continues investigations into cases linked to suspicious activities at several centres.
JAMB said the release followed a thorough review of cases flagged during and after the exam. Results were issued where investigators found no prima facie evidence of wrongdoing, while others were cancelled where malpractice was confirmed.
A statement signed by Public Communication Adviser Dr Fabian Benjamin noted that results from centres under live monitoring or associated with adverse reports will remain withheld until investigations conclude. The Board warned that any candidate found culpable during the review will have their result cancelled.
“The release follows ongoing investigations into cases of suspected examination malpractice. While some results have been outrightly cancelled where evidence of malpractice was established, others have been released where the Board found no prima facie case against the affected candidates,” the statement read.
JAMB advised candidates whose results are still pending to check their status by sending “UTMERESULT” to either 55019 or 66019 from the phone number used during registration.
This development comes as the examination body intensifies efforts to protect the integrity of the UTME and curb examination fraud nationwide.
