The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has said that the appointment of Prof. Segun Aina as Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to involving capable young Nigerians in governance.

Oba Akanbi also praised President Tinubu for naming Prof. Aina as JAMB Registrar.

In a statement released through his Press Secretary, Alli Ibraheem, on Saturday, the traditional ruler explained that the commendation was warranted given what he described as Prof. Aina’s impressive profile and career achievements.

The royal father noted that “the new registrar possesses the qualities required to sustain the integrity and credibility associated with the examination body under the leadership of the outgoing registrar, Isiaq Oloyede.”

According to the statement, the Oluwo said JAMB’s administration had been “sanitised” under Oloyede, adding that the institution had gained increased public confidence over the years.

He expressed optimism that Prof. Aina would build on the standards and quality management already established within the board.

“I specially commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the appointment of Prof. Segun Aina as the new Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board,” the statement read.

“His appointment is a reflection of Tinubu’s commitment to identifying and involving young and promising talents in his administration.”

“Having read his profile, and considering his family background with unquestionable records, Segun Aina will undoubtedly improve the tempo of trust and credibility built by his predecessor, Prof. Isiaq Oloyede,” he said.

Oba Akanbi congratulated Prof. Aina on the meritorious appointment and prayed for divine guidance for him in leading the board constructively.
