The Jagz Hotel, a prominent hospitality venue in Ibadan, announced plans to expand throughout Africa, citing the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) as a major catalyst for its long‑term growth strategy.
During the same event, the hotel introduced Mr. Jonathan Odia as its new General Manager and revealed details about the 2026 Jagz Hospitality Conference.
Mr. Lugard Agbomoagan, Managing Director of The Jagz, spoke to journalists in Ibadan, describing the hotel’s ambition to become a leading African hospitality brand with a continental focus that caters to the evolving needs of business and leisure travelers across the continent.
He highlighted Africa’s growing economic integration, cross‑border trade, and investment opportunities as key drivers for the hospitality sector.
“The Jagz is positioning itself as an emerging African hospitality brand with a long‑term continental outlook. As Africa continues to experience increased trade, cross‑border business engagement and investment opportunities under frameworks such as the African Continental Free Trade Area, we believe hospitality brands must evolve to serve a new generation of African and international travellers,” he said.
Mr. Agbomoagan added that the company’s expansion strategy reflects confidence in the future competitiveness of African hospitality and tourism. Current plans include adding more rooms, enhancing guest facilities, upgrading infrastructure, and a planned expansion to Abuja.
