Iran has set the dates for the funeral of its late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
State media announced that the funeral rites will begin in Tehran on July 4, and that Khamenei will be buried in his hometown of Mashhad on July 9.
The ceremony will include three days of proceedings in Tehran from July 4, followed by a service in the holy city of Qom on July 7.
The 86‑year‑old Khamenei died in February after a joint US‑Israeli air strike on his compound.
He had led the Islamic Republic since 1989, following the death of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, who had spearheaded the Islamic Revolution a decade earlier.
