Iran Accuses the United States of Breaching the Ceasefire in the Past 48 Hours

On Tuesday, Iran’s foreign ministry charged that the United States had breached a fragile ceasefire in the southern coastal province of Hormozgan over the preceding 48 hours, though it did not detail the specific incident.

“The US terrorist army, continuing its illegal and unjustified actions since the ceasefire … has, in the past 48 hours, committed a gross violation of the ceasefire in the Hormozgan region,” the ministry said in a statement.

The U.S. Central Command reported that its forces had attacked missile sites and boats it said were attempting to lay mines in the Gulf on Monday. Meanwhile, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed they fired upon U.S. aircraft that were attempting to enter Iranian airspace.
