Inter Miami has agreed to sign Fricio Caicedo from LDU Quito.
The young defender, who was originally set to move to Belgian club Royal Antwerp, will now join the Major League Soccer side.
Football transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that the deal has been completed for the 2008‑born center‑back.
He said, “Deal in place for the 2008‑born center‑back who was on the verge of joining Royal Antwerp… and is now heading to Inter Miami. Hijack accomplished.”
Caicedo attracted interest from Royal Antwerp in December 2025, and Ecuadorian reports suggested he had agreed to join the Belgian side in July 2026.
After representing Ecuador at the under‑15, under‑17 and under‑20 levels, the defender was invited to first‑team training by manager Sebastián Beccacece in May 2025.
In May 2026 he received his first full‑squad call‑up for the national team’s training camp in the United States ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Caicedo made his international debut on 30 May 2026, when Ecuador beat Saudi Arabia 2–1 in a friendly, coming on as a late substitute for Pervis Estupiñán.
