The national president of the Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria (ISPON), Chief Stephen Udezi, inducted 66 members at the body’s Lagos branch to strengthen efforts to embed a safety culture within Nigeria’s corporate business community.
During the ceremony, Udezi urged the newly inducted members to serve as effective ambassadors of the institute, adding that the revalidation of membership certificates would soon begin to curb fraudulent practices.
He also warned that anyone found unqualified to practice safety would face the penalties prescribed by law.
Udezi stated that ISPON seeks only the most competent professionals, as certificates are awarded based on learning and character, and he praised the inductees’ enthusiasm.
In his remarks, ISPON Lagos branch chairman Mr. Shola Ogunleye encouraged the inductees to prove themselves, noting that ISPON Lagos is still evolving and has a long path ahead.
Ogunleye praised their good conduct and reminded them to consistently uphold professional standards.
Representing the inductees, Miss Tanwa Morenikeji Adekola thanked the ISPON Lagos branch executives for the engaging yet rigorous training they had undergone.
