INEC Promises Smooth Ondo By‑Election Despite Network Issues

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has expressed satisfaction with how the Ondo South Senatorial District by‑election was conducted.

INEC noted that the exercise has been peaceful overall, even though some network‑related challenges arose.

Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of Ondo State, Mr Mutiu Agboke, told reporters on Saturday in Okitipupa while overseeing the election.

Agboke said most polling units opened on schedule, with electoral officials arriving early to start voting.

He added that some polling units were fully operational as early as 7:43 a.m., underscoring INEC’s commitment to a smooth process.

“We saw enthusiasm among voters to participate in the election. Our officials were at the polling units early and, largely, most of the polling units opened on time,” he said.
