The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) presented the Certificate of Return to Danladi Halilu Envulu‑Anza, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate who won the Nasarawa North Senatorial District by‑election.

The ceremony was held on Monday, 22 June 2026, one day after INEC announced Envulu‑Anza as the winner of the vote held in Akwanga, Nasarawa Eggon, and Wamba local government areas.

He secured 45,362 votes, surpassing his nearest competitors: former Minister of Information Labaran Maku of the Labour Party (LP) with 12,931 votes, and David Emmanuel Ombugadu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who received 11,570 votes.

After receiving the certificate, the senator‑elect thanked voters for their confidence and pledged to deliver effective representation for Nasarawa North in the National Assembly.

He promised to work diligently to promote constituents’ interests, attract development projects, and contribute to legislative initiatives that enhance citizens’ welfare.

The by‑election was held to fill the vacancy left by the death of former Senator Godiya Akwashiki, who served the district until his death on 31 December 2025.

Following the issuance of the certificate, Envulu‑Anza is expected to complete the required legislative formalities before his inauguration as the new senator for Nasarawa North.
