INEC declares APC’s Oyebanji the winner in Ekiti 2026

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that incumbent governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has won the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election.

Returning Officer Adenike Oladiji made the declaration on Sunday, reporting that Oyebanji received 319,224 votes.

Oladiji added that Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Oluwole Oluyede garnered 40,543 votes, while African Democratic Party (ADP) candidate Dare Bejide obtained 12,872 votes.

She further stated that 384,940 voters were accredited, 375,777 votes were deemed valid, 6,332 votes were rejected, and the total number of votes cast was recorded accordingly.
