Iheanacho Reflects on Celtic’s Title Win, Saying “God of Soccer Was With Us”

Kelechi Iheanacho said he was delighted after helping Celtic win the Scottish Premiership title, Completesports.com reports.

The Hoops overturned a deficit to defeat Hearts 3‑1 at the Paradise Stadium on Saturday, clinching the title on the season’s final day.

Martin O’Neill’s side secured their 56th Scottish Premiership title.

Michael Steinwender gave Hearts the opening goal in the 38th minute.

The hosts levelled late in the first half when Arne Engels converted a penalty.

Daizen Maeda and Callum Osmand each netted twice in the second half to secure the win for the hosts.

“There was massive pressure; Hearts are a very good side, but the ‘God of soccer’ was on our side today,” an elated Iheanacho said after the victory.

“I haven’t won a piece of silverware in a long time, so I’m happy to win with this massive club.”
