Albanian heavyweight Kristian Prenga has vowed to knock down former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua before the 10th round of their fight.

The pair will fight in Saudi Arabia on July 26, and in Tuesday’s press conference, Prenga told Joshua that he needs to be ready to feel his power.

He identifies himself purely as a fighter rather than just a boxer, relying heavily on his devastating knockout power to finish the job early.

“He went through a lot of stuff,” Prenga said with the assistance of a translator while also using his English to the best of his ability.

“He was out of boxing for a while, he had the car accident which I feel sorry [for him], and it’s my time. I believe [I knock him out]. I promise you it’s not going to go 10 rounds, the fight.”

“I’m a fighter. I’m not a boxer, I’m a fighter. I fight…I’m going to shock the world, brother. I’m going to shock the world.”

The match is billed as a “warm-up” for Joshua before a highly anticipated clash against Tyson Fury.

Joshua has dismissed Prenga’s confidence, recently stating, “These guys, they just dig a grave. The grave’s already been dug, but they keep digging deeper and deeper, while inviting Prenga to show him no respect in the ring.

The British former two-time unified world heavyweight champion carries a record of 29 wins (26 KOs) and 4 losses. This will be his first match since surviving a tragic car accident in Nigeria in December 2025 and is considered a critical step in his return to the ring.

For Joshua, a decisive win is mandatory to secure his future championship aspirations and the potential mega-fight with Fury. For Prenga, it is the biggest stage of his career, and he enters as the heavy underdog.
