‘I wanted title’ – Mourinho speaks on unbeaten season with Benfica

Benfica manager, Jose Mourinho, has admitted he prefers winning the title instead of going unbeaten in the season.

Despite not losing a single game, the Portuguese side also failed to qualify for the Champions League.

Mourinho has now said he would have loved to finish the campaign with something to celebrate.

“The unbeatable thing is a great thing,” Mourinho said.

“It’s the first time in my career. Even winning eight championships, I never did it invincible.

“I would change that for the title with two or three defeats, no doubts about that.”

Benfica rounded off the season with a 3-1 win over Estoril, thanks to goals from Richard Ríos, Alexander Bah and Rafa.
