I’m Not Urgently Renewing My Contract – Vinicius

Real Madrid forward Vinícius Júnior has made clear that he is not in a hurry to extend his contract, which is set to expire in June 2027.

Speaking to journalist Casimiro Miguel, the 25‑year‑old emphasized that Madrid is “the club of dreams” and expressed pride at being named one of the team’s captains at a young age.

Although discussions about his future have surfaced as his contract approaches its end, the Brazilian remains “calm” about the situation.

“I am not in a rush to renew my contract,” the 25‑year‑old said. “I have a contract until 2027, so until then we have a great deal to discuss with Madrid, and Madrid has a great deal to discuss with us.”

“Real Madrid is calm, and I am calm. The president trusts me, and I trust him. That’s all there is to it; we just have to wait and live each day, each moment, and enjoy the best club in the world.”

Vinícius Jr has completed his eighth season at the Santiago Bernabéu, scoring 22 goals and providing 10 assists across all competitions as the club finished second in La Liga, eight points behind rivals Barcelona.

It was the second consecutive season for the Spanish capital club without a major trophy.

The Brazil international told club president Florentino Perez in November that he would not renew his contract while former head coach Xabi Alonso was in charge.

Meanwhile, Perez would welcome the prospect of Vinícius Jr remaining at the Bernabéu for the rest of his career.

“I’d love for Vini Jr to stay FOREVER,” Real’s president said in an interview. “He’s won us the last two Champions Leagues, and he identifies really well with the club.”

“His renewal? There’s time.”
