The Hisbah Board in Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State has seized a shipment of alcoholic beverages that were allegedly hidden inside sacks and bags during transport into the area.

The seizure was announced in a statement released on June 26, 2026 by B. Yareema, the Information Officer of the Dutsinma Hisbah office.

According to the statement, the operation was carried out after the board received intelligence reports about an attempt to smuggle alcohol into Dutsinma.

The board explained that its personnel increased surveillance along routes commonly used for transporting alcoholic beverages, which prompted suspected smugglers to adopt new tactics by concealing the drinks inside sacks and “Ghana Must Go” bags in an effort to avoid detection.

The statement further noted that officers from the Kadangaru district office led the operation that resulted in the seizure. The confiscated items have since been taken to the Hisbah office for further action in accordance with the law.

The board also urged residents to continue providing credible information to support efforts aimed at promoting public morality, maintaining peace, and enhancing security across Dutsinma Local Government Area.
