Heirs Insurance Awards N11.5 Million for Essay Competition

Heirs Insurance Group has announced a prize fund of N11.5 million for students and teachers across Nigeria for this year’s Junior Secondary School Essay Competition, a move aimed at raising insurance awareness among young people.

The group opened applications for the fifth edition of the competition over the weekend.

According to Heirs, the initiative seeks to promote insurance and financial literacy from an early age and to provide proper insurance education for educators.

This year’s competition offers N11.5 million in prizes to winning students, teachers, and schools, underscoring the company’s commitment to fostering early insurance awareness.

In a statement, the group said that the winning students would receive a N5 million scholarship and a N1 million education grant for their schools. The first and second runners‑up would receive N3 million and N1 million scholarships, respectively. The application process also incorporates insurance‑focused themes and quizzes to engage students with the concept of insurance from the outset.

The group invited students to submit original essays of no more than 500 words on the topic “The Power of Insurance in Creating Safer and More Secure Societies.”
