Hamzat presents Lagos APC primary results to Tinubu

On Friday, Lagos State Deputy Governor Dr. Obafemi Hamzat presented the results of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primary to President Bola Tinubu, following his nomination as the party’s candidate for the 2027 election.

The event was confirmed on Saturday when Hamzat posted details of the visit and his remarks on his official X account.

He was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Oluremi Hamzat.

The meeting occurred shortly after the deputy governor was officially declared the winner of the APC primary held across Lagos State.

The presentation of the primary results marks a key political milestone as the ruling party begins preparations for the 2027 general elections.

While the specifics of the discussion were not released immediately, the visit is seen as part of ongoing consultations within the APC following the completion of its Lagos primary elections.

In a subsequent post on Saturday, Hamzat thanked party members for their confidence and explained the significance of the visit.

He wrote, “My wife, Oluremi, and I visited His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to present the official results of the Lagos APC gubernatorial primary.”

Hamzat described his nomination as both an honour and a major responsibility, pledging to continue driving development in the state.

“I remain deeply grateful for the trust placed in me. Securing the party’s nomination for the 2027 governorship election is both an honour and a profound responsibility.
