Gunmen break into Ogun estate and abduct three family members.

On Monday, suspected gunmen entered a residential estate in the Ijebu‑Ode area of Ogun State and abducted three members of the same family.

The attack took place at Ipojo Golden Estate in the Oke‑Eri neighbourhood of the town at approximately 7 p.m., when around 15 armed individuals reportedly stormed the compound with advanced firearms.

According to eyewitness accounts, the assailants forced their way into the house, looted the premises and carried off the victims.

The family patriarch, Yesiru Badewa, was reportedly away on official duty at the time of the raid.

DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, confirmed the incident on Tuesday.

He stated that the police command has stepped up tactical and intelligence operations to locate the abducted individuals and apprehend those responsible.

“The Ogun State Police Command is aware of the incident at Ipojo Golden Estate, Oke‑Eri, Ijebu‑Ode, and has intensified tactical and intelligence operations to rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators,” he said.

Babaseyi added that the command remains committed to combating kidnapping and other violent crimes throughout the state.
