Gunmen attack NIPSS Kuru, killing two soldiers and a police officer

Suspected gunmen attacked the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru on Monday night, killing two soldiers and a police officer.

Dr. Osime Samuel, the institute’s Head of Public Affairs, confirmed the incident and said the victims were on duty in the staff quarters when the attack took place.

“The National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, Kuru, wishes to inform the public that a security incident occurred in the vicinity of the Institute in the early hours of today,” the statement read.

It added that normal activities have continued as scheduled after the incident and that “there is currently no threat to the safety of participants, staff, residents, or facilities of the Institute.”
