Guinness Nigeria PLC, through its flagship brand Guinness, staged a memorable season‑ending watch party on Sunday as fans around the world celebrated Arsenal’s historic Premier League title after a 22‑year wait.
As the Official Beer of the Premier League and the Official Global Partner of Arsenal, Guinness hosted more than 500 enthusiastic supporters and football lovers at its headquarters in Lagos, while a simultaneous event ran in Abuja. The night combined triumph, community, and premium enjoyment.
The grand finale concluded a season‑long series of Guinness MatchDay viewing parties.
Throughout the campaign, the brand delivered authentic stadium energy to bars and third‑space venues in more than ten cities—including Enugu, Awka, Port Harcourt, and Ibadan—bringing together over 10,000 fans for shared football experiences.
The initiative reflects Guinness Nigeria’s ongoing commitment to anchoring the cultural moments most important to Nigerian consumers.
During the final match of the 38th round of the English Premier League, fans watched Arsenal secure a hard‑fought 2‑1 victory over Crystal Palace, clinching the championship. The title had been handed to the London Gunners after Bournemouth drew with Manchester City earlier in the season.
The Lagos event was enhanced by the presence of top entertainment personalities and Big Brother Naija stars Koyin, Bella, and Prince, while Dede’s appearance lit up the Abuja venue.
The evening was hosted by dynamic sports presenter Chief SUO, who captured the roaring energy of devoted Arsenal fans celebrating a milestone that took more than two decades to achieve.
Speaking at the event, Ifeoluwapo Odedere, Senior Brand Manager, Guinness Nigeria, said: “Football is a cultural touchstone that brings out the most profound moments of joy, passion, and connection among fans. As the Official Beer of the Premier League and a proud partner of Arsenal, our goal with the MatchDay sessions was to curate a space where fans could truly savour these monumental occasions in a way that only Guinness can enable.”
Attendees enjoyed an immersive experience that featured non‑stop music, perfectly poured Guinness, and a high‑stakes Predict and Win challenge.
Fifteen fans who correctly predicted the final scoreline were rewarded with Guinness MatchDay jerseys and a week’s worth of Guinness FES and Guinness Smooth.
The Guinness MatchDay Finale underscores Guinness Nigeria’s role as a corporate brand at the heart of culture, convening consumers around the experiences that define them. From football to music, from sport to celebration, the company’s portfolio of brands continues to deliver the moments Nigerians remember, bringing to life Guinness Nigeria’s mission of helping Nigerians celebrate life every day, everywhere.
