Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has formed a high‑level consensus committee focused on Party Harmonization and Aspirant Engagement. The move is intended to strengthen internal democracy, promote cohesion among stakeholders, and preserve party unity ahead of the upcoming elections.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Commissioner for Information and Culture Malam Ahmed Maiyaki explained that the committee will deepen mediation and constructive engagement among aspirants across the state. It will also foster mutual understanding, political stability, and consensus‑building within the party.
Maiyaki added that the committee will work with aspirants, party leaders, and other key stakeholders to facilitate amicable resolutions in constituencies where multiple interests exist, thereby sustaining peace and unity among party members.
The statement further noted that “The Committee will encourage voluntary withdrawals where necessary, in the broader interest of party harmony and electoral success.”
According to the announcement, the committee reflects Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to inclusive leadership, internal cohesion, and the preservation of unity within the party.
The committee is chaired by Deputy Governor Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, with Arch Abubakar Rabiu, the party’s Secretary, serving as Secretary of the committee.
Other members include Speaker of the Kaduna State House of Assembly Yusuf Liman, Kaduna State APC Chairman Mr. Atiku Sankey, and Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Dr. AbdulKadir Muazu Meyere.
Additional members are Chief of Staff to the Governor Alhaji Sani Kila, Commissioner for Justice and Attorney‑General Dr. James Kanyip, Commissioner for Information and Culture Malam Ahmed Mayaki, and Deputy Chief of Staff for Legal Services Dr. Mustapha Musa.
